Chopping Tonga In The Bush Promotes Soil Fertility - Agric Minister

Government is really working this year to improve on the Agricultural sector.

Interestingly, the import on local products like tomatoes, plantain and yam have reduced drastically. These are all some of the efforts the Government is initiating to reduce food exports.

However, for some time now, the soil is gradually going down. So the question is "how do we improve it?".

Some approved the used if chemical fertilizers but we know the effects of these. So, can't we find some biological means to improve the soil?

Now, when interviewed by our Journalist in Accra, Ghana, the minister in charge of Agriculture encouraged that farm animals should be allowed to enjoy themselves on the field.
When animals are allowed to roam on the field, they will surely enjoy the tonga but their faeces will help build the soil.

We believe this is the surest way of improving the soil fertility.
