Hypocrites! You Can Crown Another High Life King - Richie Mensah Fumes

CEO of Lynx Entertainment Richie Mensah has fired Ghanaians who feel bitter about Amakye Dede crowning Kuami Eugene as king of high life at the 20th edition of VGMA.

In an interview on Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo After Drive’ with DJ Advicer, he revealed that it's not the first time Amakye Dede is endorsing the young high life singer.

“Amakye Dede had a concert in the UK and he invited Kuami Eugene to perform. He met Kuami at the airport and he told Eugene how he loves the highlife he is doing. When Kuami Eugene finished performing on stage, Amakye Dede called him back and said to everyone that he doesn’t mind handing over the Highlife title to this boy because he thinks he is taking the Highlife to the next level”, he revealed.

“Then he does the same thing at the VGMA then Ghanaian cannot understand why. How!!!,” he asked.

“I think someone should ask Amakye Dede or his manager because Amakye Dede did it on his own in the UK and did it again in Ghana. If he is saying Kiki Benson force him, did Kiki force him in UK as well?”.

“We have to stop these kind of things because it is appalling to see a legend Amakaye Dede applauding a young brother and Ghanaians getting bitter about it. What is the problem,” he fumed.

“If someone thinks another artiste should be crowned high life artiste, then they should crown him or her. I don’t understand why Ghanaians are bitter”, he lamented.

All My VGMA Plaques Have Broken Into Pieces - Lord Kenya

2002 VGMA Artist of the year and multiple award winner now turned Evangelist, Lord Kenya, has revealed that all his awards together with his VGMA plaques he got during his hip life days are all broken.

According to him, the plaques were mostly wooden and hence couldn’t stand the test time. He used the analogy to bring to a close the Shatta-Stonebwoy beef and prayed that their recent public acclaimed peace really becomes a reality.

Speaking in an interview with Dr. Spice on the Saturday House Fever Entertainment Show on Okokroko Fm, Lord Kenya advised Shatta Wale and Stonebwuoy to change the mindset of their fans with good music and not fight over awards because they will all break down one day just like his awards are all broken.

He charged them to rather use creative and constructive lyrics even when they have to disagree but shouldn’t lead to a physical violence.

VGMA 2019: I Can't Buy Credit For The Fans To Vote For Me - Teephlow

Award-winning Fante rapper Teephlow has revealed that he can't afford to buy credit for his fans to vote for him to win best rapper at this year's Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

According to the "Forgive" singer in an interview on Radio Central 92.5mhz, he disclosed that the team is doing their best for him to win.

"We are doing the best we can do to bring the award but at the end of the day we can't do everything. Obviously I can't buy credit for people to vote like Sarkodie will do. I can't do it alone so we have to do it together", he told Amansan Krakye.

Teephlow also entreated the fans to support by voting massively because awards are won by votes and not just talking.

"Every category that has to do with voting takes a collective effort to win. Anytime you see an artist nominated for category that has to do with voting, the winner is the one that had most votes. So the only way we can win is to come together and vote across board. Most times people will be saying 'this year Teephlow go take am' but we don't use the mouth to win an award but votes. I have done my part as an artist so it has left with the fans to vote so that we can carry the awards", he added.

VGMA Board Members Are Biased, My Songs Were Popular - Lil Win

Actor cum singer, Kwadwo Nkansah a.k.a Lil Win has blasted Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for not nominating his songs this year.

According to the "Ladder" hitmaker in an interview with DJ Nyaami, most of his songs are popular than the songs that made it to this year's edition but VGMA refused to recognize them because they see him as comedian.

"Charterhouse sees me as a comedian but not an artist that’s why they don’t consider me when it comes to the nominations. They don’t feel like giving me awards for my music, unlike Europe where the artists like me get numerous nominations for all the right reasons. Most of my songs are way more famous than the singles who have gotten this year's nominations", he revealed.

Last year Lil Win released songs like "Oblogo", "Akyire Asem", "Eye Wo Dea" with Kalybos, "Kwadwo Nkansah" featuring Guru and "Anointing" featuring Kuami Eugene but all couldn't make it to the VGMA.
