Veteran Ghanaian rapper, Obrafour has advised artists who engage their colleagues in beefs not to extend it beyond the showbiz circles.
Obrafour who is believed to be one of the greatest Ghanaian rapper of all time said it’s unhealthy to diss people’s mothers just because you have a score to settle with a fellow musician.
Obrafour further said the motive behind the kind of beefs they did back in the days was to boost sales but not what has permeated the industry lately.
When George Quaye of Joy FM asked him his opinion about the current beefs in the industry, the rapper said:
“I don’t subscribe to it at all, talking about people’s mothers who have nothing to do with their music is a no-no. These are people who have nothing to do with the music, it is just sad “
“Reggie Rockstone in one of his songs says he was born with a microphone in his hands…the jab comes as no one is born with a microphone in their hands. it was just beautiful,”.
Obrafuor added that they never took their beef personal, they did it only for commercial purpose.

Cardi B beat the likes of Travis Scott, Mac Miller, Pusha T to win the best rap album, which is her first Grammy, for ‘Invasion of Privacy’.
The issue of many Ghanaian celebrities being tagged as ‘scammers’ has over some time now been a topic of great interest.
Many young hard-working artists who tend to make a blow and start to live a lavish life is either attributed to ‘scam’ or other dubious means of earning income as in the case of rapper AMG Medikal.
The above-mentioned budding rapper who won 2019 VGMAs Rapper Of The Year has washed off his hands on anything scamming as Ghanaians have been made to believe. Remember that AMG Medikal has been accused times without number of being a Sakawa boy or otherwise known as a fraudster.
Consequently, he has tried on many occasions to tell the world that his money is legit but this Sakawa question keeps coming. According to Medikal, he’s now tired of explaining himself that he’s not a Sakawa boy, and so people should say whatever they want to say, and that it’s all the blessings of God.
On Okay FM with Abeiku Santana, when asked again whether it’s true he made his money through Sakawa, he said,
“I’m tired of even answering this question. Yoo, I don’t care whether people say I do Sakawa or not, i’m happy, it’s God who’s blessed me, and I can’t do anything about it, it’s all the blessing of God that I have money.”
On whether it’s music that made him got all the money and has bought cars and bought houses, he said; “God has blessed me at an early age, i have started making money before i started music”.
Rapper Obibini has explained that he is not controversial because he wants his works to speak for him.
According to him in a recent interview with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central, the rapper said he won't ride on fake stories to get attention.
"My own is, everything I do I want to do it real. These days everyone is saying it's controversies that sell so they are doing stuffs to be popular but me I see it to be fake. If the story comes and it's real and true, fine but I won't force myself to cook a story that's not real just to get some name.
Because I believe that the name that I will get will not last but the quality of works I'm releasing will always speak for me. So I believe my works will speak for me and my works will work for me", he explained.
Obibini also revealed that though he is not controversial, his hard work got him VGMA nomination.
"So far Obibini is not controversial but he was nominated as one of the best rappers in the country and it's all because of the quality of works I put out there. So that also works for me, being real with myself and keeping the works coming in", he added.
The Inspector General of the Patupa Soldiers, Patapeezy has lamented on how some top artists neglect him when he calls them for a feature.
The rapper who is noted for doing 'stupid' and noisy songs in an interview with Abeiku Santana on Atuu indirectly revealed that celebrated rapper Sarkodie ignored him when he called him for a feature.
According to him, the artiste in question is selfish and looked down on him to even pick his call.
Patapaa is noted for doing senseless, useless and noisy songs so we are not surprised that Sarkodie and co refuse to pick his call for a collabo as it may tarnish his hard-earned brand.
Recall that Kuami Eugene stated that he can never feature Patapaa on his song because they are worlds apart in the music scene ie his style of music is way different than the Swedru-based JAMA leader.
Artiste manager and renowned producer, Mark Okraku Mantey says Shatta Wale’s relevance in the music sphere stemmed up after rapper Kwaw Kesse was arrested and jailed over marijuana possession some years ago.
According to him, the timing was apt and right for Shatta Wale who rode on Kwaw’s sentence to cement his fame in the music industry.
Speaking on Hitz FM, Mr Mantey said Kwaw’s absence created a vacuum and Shatta Wale had to fill it with his craft.
“Shatta became Shatta when Kwaw Kesse went to prison. Because there was vacuum and someone had to fil it. When Kwaw came back [from prison], he has never been the same. “As if he is not the same Kwaw. Kwaw used to have followers and nowadays I don’t even see them. When you’re on top, it looks like everyone likes you,” he said.
Controversial Ghanaian rapper, Kwaw Kese was tried for narcotic offences and sentenced to a day’s imprisonment for allegedly smoking cannabis in public with a fine of GHC 1,200 in 2015.
A Kumasi High Court gave the ruling after a number of adjournments, following the rapper’s arrest by police in Kumasi on November 22, 2014.

He posted via Instagram;
“Vgma today, thanks for your votes, let’s pray 2 years ago’s history doesn’t repeat itself today".
