Police arrested 20 residents of Amasaman for assulting a police Officer(Video)

The residents of Amasaman who joined forces to beat SWAT Unit Police Officer, Sgt Atta Mahama Mahanadi have been arrested by the Ghana police services after the video emerged.



This morning, a video of some group of angry youths of Amasaman beating a police officer to pulp surfaced online and there was great condemnation from the public.

In the about 40-second video, the policeman was seen receiving punches from young men, while some Good Samaritans were seen frantically trying to stop them.

In all 20 people have been arrested in connection with the assault. They will be arraigned before the court to face various charges of assault.

According to Amasaman Divisional Police Command, the 20 people were arrested at swoop last night Monday 6th May at various locations within the Ga West Municipal district in the Greater Accra Region.
